Hi, I was using the dropbox web interface to access some files on my account. From the search results page, I selected a file and a folder that matched my search term, and clicked "Download", cant download dropbox .zip file. A few moments later, cant download dropbox .zip file, a small pop-up at the bottom of the screen appeared that said "Zip download failed.
Why did it fail, how can I download my files? I'm guessing this is a bug with the dropbox web interface, not sure where to report it. Go to Solution. I think the issue was that one of the items I selected to download was the parent folder of another item I selected.
So say I select a folder called "my bookmarks" and a file called "old bookmarks. txt", where "old bookmarks, cant download dropbox .zip file. txt" is a file inside of the "my bookmarks" folder.
Now if I search "bookmarks" and select both "old bookmarks. txt" and "my bookmarks", then click "Download", I get the "Zip download failed" pop-up. You can try it for your self. I guess this is just a minor UX bug, but my experience with it was still annoying when I didn't realize right away why it was failing.

I'm trying to download a fairly large directory with a pretty deep hierarchy of folders in it. Every time it says Cant download dropbox .zip file download failed.
I've tried downloading folder separately but there are a huge number and in some folders it still fails because the context includes a lot of photos and some videos that are big.
There are file size and quantity limitations when downloading folders. Make sure the folder you're downloading is smaller than 20 GB and has fewer than 10, files within it. Ultimately, you'll have a much better experience if you cant download dropbox .zip file the Dropbox client and just allow the folder to sync to your computer. It's faster, resumes when interrupted, and doesn't have to compress your folders into Zip files. I suspect there are more files in the folder than 10, So sounds like it can't zip it.
I've waited days for it to sync with no luck. Dropbox client just spins and gives me no indication if it is working. I tried zipping a smaller set and downloading at it did work. It may be on subsequent syncs but not on the first one. It is MUCH slower. I just have too many for them.
